As a self-published author, I know all of the steps involved in publishing both e-books and print-on-demand, and I also know from first-hand experience how intimidating and time consuming the do-it-yourself approach can be. Editing, book cover design, manuscript formatting and marketing are all necessary tasks that nevertheless eat into precious time that could be spent writing your next book.

In addition to being an indie author, I’m also a trained and experienced copy editor and graphic designer, with years of first reader experience and a good eye for story.

Services & Pricing

Manuscript Critique – I’ll read your manuscript and offer honest, constructive feedback on how well it hangs together, plot holes or other story problems, character deficiencies, etc: $25 per 50 pages (rounded to the nearest 50)

Proofreading & Copy Editing - I’ll check your spelling, syntax, grammar and punctuation and correct errors and offer suggestions for improvement: $1 per 250 words

E-book Formatting – I’ll format your manuscript according to guidelines for Smashwords, Amazon, etc. and provide you with .mobi, .epub, Word and PDF versions that are ready for publishing to Smashwords, Kindle Direct Publishing, PubIt (Barnes & Noble/Nook) and other delivery sites: $0.75 per 250 words

POD Formatting – Same as above, except I’ll format your manuscript into a PDF galley for a print-on-demand trade paperback: $0.50 per page

E-book Cover Design – A cover image custom-designed for you in Photoshop. I can incorporate stock art/photography or an image that you provide that you have permission to use on your cover, or I can create an abstract cover. Based on a description of your book, I’ll provide three cover concept mock-ups for you to choose from, and up to 10 revisions of the concept of your choice. Upon approval and payment you’ll receive a watermark-free .jpg of the final version to use as a cover for your e-book and in online marketing materials: $40

Paperback Full Cover Design – A wrap-around trade paperback cover suitable for print publishing. This includes both the front and back cover and the book spine. Same terms as with E-Book Cover Design. Upon approval and payment you’ll receive a zip folder containing a high-resolution .tif file suitable for print, along with a lower-res .jpg for online marketing materials: $80

Paperback Cover Design – Front Only – Same as above, but only the front cover. Suitable for use with certain cover templates on CreateSpace: $50

E-book AND Paperback Cover Design Combined: $100

E-book Publishing – I’ll submit the appropriately formatted files to Kindle Direct Publishing, PubIt, and Smashwords: $25

Print On Demand Publishing – I’ll submit your properly formatted PDF galley and cover to the POD publisher of your choice (CreateSpace, LuLu, etc.). Please note that this does NOT include the cost of your own ISBN (if you choose not to use the free ISBN provided by the POD service) or the cost of ordering a proof copy of the book: $35

E-book Publishing AND POD Publishing Combined: $50

Review Submission – Reviews are the life’s blood of book marketing and one of the best ways to generate new readers. I’ll submit your book to a list of sites that are open to reviewing self-published books in your genre. Please note that my involvement ends once the book is submitted to each site, and that there is no guarantee that any given site will agree to review your book, or that the reviews you receive will be positive. I will in no way be held liable for your level of satisfaction with any reviews that you receive as a result of this service. $75
